Policy Title: University Housing – Eligibility

Purpose:
To provide information on University housing at Boise State University and to establish eligibility requirements for residing in University housing.

Scope:
University students seeking on-campus housing.

Policy

  • I.  Eligibility
    To live in either a residence hall or in the University apartments, the individual must be admitted by the University and enrolled carrying a minimum of 8 undergraduate and/or 9 graduate credits, with priority for space given to full-time students (12 or more credits). The Residence Hall Contract is for the entire academic year, while the apartments offer a monthly lease arrangement. All students within the residence hall system are required to follow the terms of the contract which they sign, and those individuals in the apartments must likewise fulfill the terms of their lease.
  • II.  Responsibility
    The Office of University Housing is responsible for the implementation and enforcement of all policies and procedures pertaining to the residence halls and the apartments.
  • III.  Procedures
    Application procedures for prospective and current residential and apartment students:
    • A.  Residence Halls
      • 1.  Students wishing to reside in a residence hall must complete an application/ agreement and submit it along with the required application fee/security deposit to the Office of University Housing.
      • 2.  The Office of University Housing will verify the status of the student to see whether or not (s)he is an enrolled qualifying student at Boise State University.
      • 3.  The Office of University Housing oversees the student’s fulfillment of the residence hall contract conditions.
    • B.  University Apartments
      • 1.  Students wishing to reside in University apartments must complete an application and submit it along with the required application fee to the Office of University Housing.
      • 2.  The Office of University Housing will verify the status of the student to see whether or not (s)he is an enrolled qualifying student at Boise State University.
      • 3.  The Office of University Housing oversees the student’s fulfillment of the University apartments lease conditions.
